Amoniaco unveils an official reinterpretation of Soda Stereo’s “Cancion Animal” — raw emotion meets modern energy
The iconic Latin rock anthem comes to life again via Russian label Scent Air Records – Digital release expected in August 2025
Santiago, Chile — Chilean alternative rock band Amoniaco is proud to announce the upcoming release of an officially authorized version of “Cancion Animal,” the legendary track by Argentine rock icons Soda Stereo. The cover will be available on all major streaming platforms through Scent Air Records (Russia) in August 2025 (exact release date to be confirmed).
This powerful reinterpretation preserves the raw energy of the original while infusing it with Amoniaco’s distinctive sonic signature: atmospheric textures, haunting vocals, and a dark, melodic edge. The track was produced and mixed by Carlos Vandal at Estudio Noiser in Santiago, Chile, and mastered by Fernando Cubillos at Riot Diva Studio, delivering a polished yet emotionally charged sound.
“This song is deeply woven into our identity — not just as musicians, but as part of a generation shaped by Soda Stereo’s legacy,” says Carlos Vandal, frontman of Amoniaco. “Covering it was both an honor and a responsibility. We wanted to respect its spirit while making it ours.”
The release also represents a new step in Amoniaco’s growing international presence, underlining their partnership with Scent Air Records, a label renowned for its focus on darkwave, synthpop, and post-punk acts across the globe.
“Cancion Animal” – Amoniaco version will be available soon on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube, and all major digital platforms.
