The album opens with a short piece What Happened On The Moon, My Darling? – as a disturbing overture to certain fateful events.
The second number is the post–decadent track It Will Always Be Now – the moderately strict Arietta, where, perhaps, Peter Schills meets Ziggy Stardust and together they again try to unravel the mystery of existence/nothingness under joyless but soulful electronic strings, tense basses and synthesizers covered with a thin layer of frost…
The next track, All the Lunatics Will Be Dead, is the main theme to the cult mythical film of the same name. Despite the sad mood, deep chords walk from minor passages to major overflows, as if giving hope for a happy ending (the action of the picture takes place on board a spaceship that made an unsuccessful landing and went under the water of an unfamiliar frozen planet, the oceans of which are completely covered with an ice shell). Radio waves freeze in the atmosphere with pieces of ice, Space looks indifferently at endless white spaces, and the ship gradually turns into a huge cryocamera … However, the music in the finale leaves the viewer wondering – did the main character really survive or are they dreams of miraculous salvation that have frozen with him?..
ICU: Stuck In Love – the name itself is a play on words – I See You or Intensive Care Unit, and the composition is a energetic song on the verge of autodestructive romance and also cold, but groovy synthetics.
Venus. Part I – In Orbit, Part II – Endless Rain – the mini-suite is inspired by Bradbury’s short story The Long Rain (1950). The track is not as gloomy as the fiction story itself, in the second part it sounds like the music to the credits of his happy ending, starting as an electronic kraut in the spirit of a Tangerine Dream, and continuing as a dreamy hypothetical collaboration of Brian Eno and Edgar Froese.
The release is crowned by an instrumental version of the title track.
